Anyone flying round main land this week will of noticed a few things changing… main one being it’s turning WHITE, we’ve had a little bit of snow, virtual and RL ;-)
Now with all this snow it got us in a bit of a Christmas (party) mood and we decided to get started on a project we have been thinking about and thought now would be a good time to get YOU guys to put your thinking caps on. Some of you will have seen one of the sandboxes has changed its name to Winter Wonderland and is no more a Sandbox. Avatar Connection is about community and having fun, so the idea behind Winter Wonderland is it is a place anyone can go to hang out on. In short it’s a kind of Community region, a region we can theme to different times of the year, a place to have parties, meetings and have Chit chats with friends new and old. At the moment there is “The Shed” (created by an AC member Suzy Silverweb and given to the Opensim community on http://opensim-creations.com/2011/07/17/rustic-cozy-log-cabin/ )The Shed is the place to take a sat and catch up with friends, listen to the radio and just hang out. There is a rezzing area to show a build off to friends, rez boxes that need opening etc. Winter Wonderland is a good place to send new members after they have been shopping as it’s a place they can open boxes and is a place we hope other members will be hanging out… it’s where you will find the team when not working ;-) Dum shaking his moves on the dance floor, Dee unpacking boxes and Kuu knocking a beer back hehe. This way when new members come over there will be people who can help and inform them about Avatar Connection, how the world works, where you can share your world on the website’s social network by posting about events/builds/regions/photos etc.Winter Wonderland is not a finished region by any extent and we would like some help on getting it looking good and a good name for it. It will be called Winter Wonderland until after Christmas, but then we would like to give it a more permanent name that represents more of what the region is about. The kind of name we are looking for is something when people see it on the map they know it’s a place to go and hang out, meet new people and have a bit of fun on. We have done a Forum post, so if you have any ideas post them there J 
Another change you may of spotted is a new region called “Freeland”. This region is next to Freeport which is for builds made in Avatar Connection. Freeland however is for builds that have been given to the virtual world/Opensim community. All items in this region will be uploaded by one of the AC admin team after we have checked the licences. On the Freeland region by the shops or the builds you will find a thank you sign saying Thanks for the build and giving the website where the build is from. The people who have created the builds on Freeland have been very kind and given their time and builds for the benefit of others in virtual worlds and we just want to say THANK YOU J
The way we are setting out mainland we hope it will be quite intuitive for new members to find their way around. Land at AC Welcome, walk across to Freeport and Freeland then on to Winter Wonderland where they can start to meet other ACers.
