Going For Gold!!!

It’s started after years of waiting Friday’s night opening show welcomed the start of the Olympics. So much is going on and so many metals being won, not one person could see everything.

Here at Avatar Connection we would like to celebrate the Olympics with a themed build on Contest Island. The theme is the OLYMPICS (of course hehe), we want to see what your favourite part of the Olympics is. That could be a build to represent your favourite sport, moment, event or just what you love about the Olympics. For each build you have an allowance of 1000 prim and 20 of scripts.

How to take part.

Log in world and Teleport to Contest Island. Once there you will see a number of plots, in the middle of these plots you will see a box with an Olympic image on them. Click these boxes for a notecard which explains how to claim that plot. Once you have claimed you plot on Contest Island, you can start building your Olympic dream. (for those that have taken part in earlier themed builds on Contest Island the top 10 retain their building plot)

Closing date for the build.

There is no hurry to pick your favourite bit about the Olympic, this themed build will be open until the end of the Paralympics and we will enjoy all the builds at a party on Contest Island on the 8^th of September. So take your time to create your Olympic build, but make sure you grab your plot ;-)

Fancy an Easter Egg

Fancy an Easter EGG???

There are over 100 hidden throughout Avatar Connection. On Friday the 6^th of April the great Easter Egg hunt and Hop starts, with many prizes and gifts to be won. Not got any Land yet in Avatar Connection, why not hunt out some of the prize draw ticket and try and win yourself a plot. Members have also been busy filling their eggs and hiding around their own regions. Maybe you’ll find that pair of boots you wanted, a new skin or just something that makes you smile J

Want to take???

It’s easy, Log in to AC Welcome and you will see a big white BUNNY (really you can’t miss him) If you click his egg you will get a Landmark delivered to your inventory (look for it in recent items) This Landmark will take you to the first Hop, have a good look round the region (see if you can find any of the eggs). On that region you will also find another BIG WHITE BUNNY, click his egg and you got it you’ll get another Landmark to another region with more EGGs. On that region you will see….. you get the idea, just keep hopping until you think you have found all the eggs.

For those that find Eggs with prize draw tickets in them, the prize draw will take part on Tuesday the 10^th April and the winning numbers will be announced in the Avatar Connection forums.

Maybe after all that Hopping about you may feel like having bop…. Friday at 9pm UTC we will be doing just that down at Foxyfuffs with Boo.

If hopping and a bopping is not your thing we still have a few spaces left of on Contest Island for you to get creative. Just hop along to the centre of Contest Island pick up a notecard and start building.

The Bunnies are a hopping...

Spring is just around the corner and one of the signs of spring is Bunnies. So Avatar Connection is going to go bunny mad for Easter.

First off we will have a fun bunny build contest on Contest Island. Very simple we want BUNNIES, whether that be one big bunny or lots of small bunnies it will be all about what you do with that bunny (cough cough please remember Contest Island is a PG rated island so please no play boy bunnies ;-) ) (Check out Contest Island for more details)

Contest Island will also be the starting point for our Region hop game. It was such fun at the St Patrick’s day pub crawl flying around look at people’s different builds that we thought we would do it on a bigger scale this time…. bunny hop from region to region. The idea is you will start either at Welcome or Contest Island where you will pick up your Bunny hoping kit (it’s compulsory to wear all items in the kit when bunny hopping hehe) Next to the Bunny hop kits will be a Landmark Giver that when Clicked will give you a Landmark to the first hop. When you land at the first hop there will be another Landmark giver that will give you another hop and so and so until have done all the hops. This will be a great way to find out more about Avatar Connection and what people are doing, it will also be a fun way to showcase our growing virtual world to new members and let them know what a great bunch of fun people you guys here already are.

While hopping around the regions keep your eyes peeled for Easter Eggs that will have prizes or prize tickets in them.

The prizes are there ready for you to take and then to start playing with, whereas the prize tickets are your numbers for the prize draw to be done on Tuesday the 10^th of April. The winning ticket will get a “Quarter Plot”* for two months and two other winning tickets will get a plot each on Electric Avenue for a month. So tell your friends to get in and start hopping around and enjoying the fun with you.

Now I am noticing quite a few members are starting to create their own looks in world and thought it would be fun for us all to create an Easter Avatar look. Take a picture of the look and place the photo in our website profile picture (not sure how to do that? Take a look at this quick tut on it http://avatarconnection.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=8&id=78&Itemid=117 ) For all the members that do create an Easter Avatar Look and post it in their website profile, we will be marking as Featured in the members list for the Easter Holidays. For more details on this and the other Events over Easter keep your eyes on the forums.

Are you a Party Creator???

St Patrick’s Day is coming up on the 17th March. Great excuses for a party!!!

I myself have spent a few St Patrick’s days in Dublin and have more than enjoyed the pub crawls that seem to be the flavour of the day. But how to re-create the fun and amusement of a pub crawl in a virtual world?.......

Well we put our thinking caps on and came up with an idea……

First off we need your help. We are opening up another building contest, where all builds will need to be finished for the 17^th March (St Patrick’s Day). The theme to get your creative minds around for this build is PUBS (well pubs, bars, clubs, breweries…. Anywhere a party can be held.)

The idea is on the 17^th of March we have a party and when the DJ plays a certain song (TBC) we all jump to the next pub (well build hehe) This way we get to have a really good look round some ACer’s builds and we are re-creating a virtual version of the pub crawl….. hopefully we won’t have bad heads the morning after ;-)

While jumping from build to build (pub to pub) you will be asked to mark the builds (in secret) on a notecard and at the end of the pub crawl, hand over to Kuu who will then tot up the scores and announce the winning pub (sorry build) We can then all dance the night away in the winning pub….. or until the DJ cannot spin any more tunes ;-)

For now though we need you to get building those pubs, bars, clubs etc. We can’t have a crawl without the pubs hehe. If you built something for Valentine’s, just keep hold of that plot and build your idea of the best party venue. If you did not enter the Valentine's build or have friends who would like to join in, TP along to "Contest Island" and grab one of the available plots and get building :-)

The winner of this contest will be named “Top Party Creator” in their title on their profiles and all the drinks will be on them hehe ;-)
